Layer2-based TSP CDKs
Summarize
The TSP Chain Development Kit (CDK) is a self-developed, modular, open-source software toolkit that allows blockchain developers to launch new zero-knowledge proof-of-concept (zkEVM plus optional validium) L2 chains on Ether.
With the successful launch of TSP, it becomes the first EVM project built on the TSP CDK across the network. This innovative technology not only marks a milestone in the blockchain field, but also brings a brand new user experience to users.
TSP Chain Development Kit (CDK) is a modular, open-source software toolkit for blockchain developers that supports the installation and configuration of multiple chain architectures.TSP CDK enables developers to launch new L2 chains on EtherChannel running the TSP zkEVM technology, or convert existing Layer 1 (L1) chains to ZK-EVM L2 in the future.
ZK-EVM vs. zkEVM - Term Usage
● ZK-EVM: The capitalization and hyphenated usage of this term refers to any zero-knowledge summarization chain in general.
● zkEVM refers to Polygon's zero-knowledge summarization and validium extension solution. Chains customized for a specific application may leverage the zkEVM execution environment, employ the validium schema, and implement a centralized sequencer.
Sovereign and Modular Chain Design
The TSP CDK provides developers with a toolkit for sovereign and modular chain design without sacrificing future interoperability with other L2 chains. Chains built with the TSP CDK have access to an (upcoming) ecosystem of unified liquidity, optimized performance, and seamless asset transfer, while prioritizing user experience and data security.
CDK Features
Here is what developers can expect when building with the TSP CDK.
Modularity and Sovereignty: The TSP CDK provides a modular environment for ZK-driven L2 chain design. Developers can customize the chain according to their needs.
Scalability: TSP CDK develops L2 chains that increase transaction speeds and can be multiplied to achieve a resilient and scalable ecosystem.
Independent Data Availability: The chain developed by TSP CDK has a dedicated Data Availability Layer and Data Availability Committee to provide robust off-chain data access and reliability. This structure is independent of Ethernet, ensuring strong data resilience and integrity.
Interoperability (coming soon): With an interoperability layer under development, CDK-developed chains can interoperate seamlessly, meaning atomic L2 <> L2 transactions. Chains deployed with the TSP CDK will have the opportunity to opt-in to the interoperability layer and take advantage of unified mobility.
Near-instant finality: Chains deployed with TSP CDK rely on cryptographic security to ensure transaction integrity without the need for full nodes. This approach ensures near-instant certainty and strong security.
Extensive Web3 Support: The TSP CDK chain utilizes a comprehensive ecosystem of premium service providers that offer essential tools for application integration, development and deployment. The diagram below illustrates how TSP CDK-developed chains can opt-in to an interoperable network of L2 chains:
Where TSP CDK is headed
UPCOMING RELEASE: The next release of the TSP CDK is expected in the first quarter of 2024 and will support a wider range of features and configurations. These include:
● Unified LxLy Bridges: as the first phase of the interoperability layer, projects built with the CDK will have the option to plug in unified LxLy bridges, which will ultimately help connect the entire TSP ecosystem.
● Customization of native (gas) tokens.
● Customized permission lists for smart contracts and transactions.
● Support for modular third-party data availability solutions.
Other concepts
Rollup
Rollup is a blockchain Layer 2 scaling solution that accelerates the network by aggregating multiple transactions into batches that are ultimately submitted to Layer 1.
CDK provides zkEVM aggregation solutions.
Validium
Validium is a blockchain extension solution that does not store transaction data on the chain.
